Visibility III / V
When the weather forecast promised clear, frost and calm in the morning, I decided to take a turn to try my luck in hunting a flash of green. The sun rose more than 2 minutes before the "calculated time." It’s always a hectic moment and this time I could only watch the phenomenon from the back of the camera. But I kind of got the flash somehow recovered. I tried to match the speed in the GIF animation to be realistic, i.e. the images change in it about every 2 seconds. The green flash only appears in two consecutive images, so its duration was in the order of two seconds. The wind had already reached 3 m / s readings, so no more decent segment detachments were seen, even though the sun was rising quite flat. The horizon shown in the pictures is more than 10 km away. The pictures have been cropped a lot from the originals.

Kun avaa isolle koolle ja katsoo ekan... ja sitten toisen(!) ruudun ilmestymisen, niin todellakin - siellä on leveälti vihreä irtosegmentti.
Onnittelut hieno havainto Petri. Erittäin havainnollinen tuo animaatio.
Hieno koppi! Laskut ovat ainakin täällä Vaasan seudulla olleet tosi tapahtumaköyhät kangastelun suhteen. Nousuja ei oikein pääse hyvältä suunnalta yrittämään...
Kiitos kommenteista! Irtosegmentti siellä tosiaan on, kakkoskuvasta näkee myös että vihreä reuna on yläpuolisen kangastuksen irrottaman segmentin alareunassa, eli se on peilikuva.
