Telescopic comet ATLAS - 11.4.2020 at 00.20 Nakkila Observation number 89927

Visibility III / V

Juha Ojanperä, Porin Karhunvartijat

Last time to spot the comet Atlas before it fades away completely!

Visually, the diffuse and hazy coma, which is round in shape, stood out from the comet. The brightness of Koma grows very weakly towards the center, in the center of Koma only a very weak central brightness is observed, the brightness of which does not differ much from the average brightness of Koma. The marginal eye has a slight noticeable tail-like structure starting from the center of Koma to the east. Admittedly, this is a somewhat uncertain observation.

DC: 5

Head diameter: about 3 '

Hieno visuaalihavainto Juha, pieni pyrstöhän tuolla tosiaan on näkyvissä

Kiitos Rauno! Onneksi ehdin tämän havaitsemaan ennenkuin se kenties hiipuu kokonaan pois!

"Huhut kuolemastani ovat vahvasti liioiteltuja." (Mark Twain, 1897). C/2019 Y4 (ATLAS) tuntuu toistaiseksi porkuttavan, kirkkaus on pysynyt melko vakaana noin 9 magnitudissa jo noin 10 päivän ajan.
