Visibility IV / V
Let's contribute an ellipse from Rovaniemi as well. This came from a routine trip to photograph surface fish in Oikarainen Kemijoki. Cold morning again, -30 C on the car meter when I left in the parking lot at Kuusamontie. The surface halos were not strange, but then the Acs, which lingered low in the southeast, rose a little higher and began to crystallize (in the upper air, did not enter the ground). Pilaria was visible, the situation changed quickly. At times, I thought I was imagining an elliptical glow and switched to a fisheye putty lens at Canon for sure. At one point, the suspicion of the ellipse then exceeded the critical threshold which made me take pictures, although I was not at all sure it was there. When the situation was over and only the pillars were visible, the post-observation uncertainty of course attacked right away and the priority of the event in my thoughts was ranked down until at night I glanced at the pictures and found that it was there on the ellipse after all.
1. A stack of four images for a period of 28 seconds at 1208, images taken at fairly even intervals. Distracted, slightly embellished with a history brush by removing the overexposure around the Blokker.
2. Same as crawling
3. "Naturelli" single image. This might convey the atmosphere of what it visually looked like, not very clear
4. The same in disbelief
