Visibility III / V

Tommi Ropponen, Ursa (Etelä-Suomi)

For the first time, I was able to test teleoptics in solar imaging.

When I didn’t have time to exercise for a longer period of time, I used to visit my actual telescope imaging equipment and switched to random visual viewing. But when shooting doesn’t stop, then from now on the sun will be shot without any tracking pads, computers, etc. This setup will carry out in 2 minutes and in shooting condition it will be 1 min after that. I could almost say that compared to my heavier previous fleet, this will get 80% of the result with 10% effort.

Even if there was a comma still visible. After all, this isn’t any level of my hydrogen alpha images right now, but surprisingly nice to get things out of the images with this combo, too. The pictures show a couple of different processing in both black and white and "colors chosen by the artist".

Technical information

Equipped with Sony A7iii, Sony SEL200600G and Sony SEL20TC (2x teleconverter) and AstroSolar membrane. These were inserted on a carbon fiber tripod (Leofoto LS-364C) on which Scopetech’s Mount Zero served as the manual Alt-Az stand. I took 370 pictures, the best 10% of which are stacked. Processed from raw images to final output with a combination of LightRoom, Pipp, Autostakkert, ImPPG and color adjustment in Photoshop.
