Telescopic comet Siding Spring - 11.4.2021 at 02.08 - 11.4.2021 at 02.29 Orimattila, Artjärvi, Tähtikallio Observation number 98014

162P / (Siding Spring) (2004 TU12) The Jupiter family comet / NEO was filmed on the second night of the April 2021 campaign. The Australian Siding Spring Survey found on 10 October 2004 the Apollo asteroid 2004 TU12. La Cañada Observatory (J87) bulletin on the discovery of the comet http://www.lacanada.es/Docs/162P.htm . Comet 162P has been compared to Jupiter's Trojan comets, due to its small amount of dust and large size. Overall estimate with a core of approx. 12km and a rotational speed of 32,853h / r. When photographing the comet was 2,168au away, the closest it was 0.395au on October 29, 2020 in the southern sky.
