Be it a storm. The thunder started shortly after noon. At the end of the work day, I deviated on my way home to the edge of the field, where I estimated a fierce thunder cell to arrive. It did come close, but went a few miles past.
The lightning was not fierce, but the cloud shapes were. There was a clear avalanche cloud, a possible shelf cloud, and a fairly certain wall cloud (Fig. 2).
The end ended when the lightning clicked from a rainless spot less than two miles away. Came in a hurry for the car ...
