ISS - 15.7.2021 at 00.49 Espoo Observation number 99593

Visibility III / V

Mika Yrjölä, Ursa (Etelä-Suomi)

For a long time, the Bongaa100 challenge set in motion the International Space Station. I had already watched a few days earlier from Heaven's Above when the ISS would happen to be available and to my delight suitable days were available this week, and at least considering the recent weather, at least there was little fear that the clouds would bother.

I set up my passport at the scene ten minutes in advance. Even the teenagers who came to the place didn't seem to be bothered or interested by the uncle, who roared nearby with a tripod and a jerk, so mosquitoes in calm weather were the only factor that hindered the enjoyment of the summer night.

The space station appeared as a slowly moving bright object in time, easily overshadowing other visible objects when Jupiter was left out of sight behind the forest. As a nice surprise, after a while, the sound of the plane also started to be heard and I wondered for a moment if there was an observation error going on. But as I glanced east, I noticed an airplane there, so the mystery was solved. As a nice bonus, the tracks of the ISS and the plane still intersected, so I also got the picture below of the space station and the plane "Kolari" :)
