7. The first test exposures (a stack of three images) show the wings almost forming some sort of diffuse ring. Or just as if such a ring were in addition to them?

EDIT: it's really starting to look like the Christmas season is going strong. After looking at the pictures, I think so myself, and many others have already said the same. But then there's that diffuse "wing" shape and the rarefied halo blocking the 22 in some individual frames. And at the base of the Christmas time arch, another arch seems to start, albeit a very short and vague one. Like a crooked horizon tire stub. Or I'm just imagining it in pictures.
There's enough mystery. My intention is to make an animation that shows the arcs coming to life. But everything happens smoothly when there are many things on the wall here.
EDIT: GIF added. I think that shows the change in the distance or angle of the curves. This would indicate a changing orientation or, correspondingly, the peak angle in the crystal. Also added a picture from the stage of the first test exposures, when the pictures have a diffuse ring in addition to the "wings"?

Justiinsa... Tuosta kiteestä kun olisi saanut vielä sen kidenäytteen mikroskoopin alle niin olisi voinut mysteerimikitin aueta ainakin joltain osin. Liikaa toivottu tietysti sillä eihän kai nyt kukaan makoile hangessa keskellä talvea.... Onko noissa muissa harvoissa samantyppisissä tapauksissa ollut viitteitä tai yhtäläisyyttä tuohon ilmavirran nopeuteen/ kiteen (kenties?) "pakotettuun" orientaatioon? Kys. nimim. en taaskaan jummarra... On kyllä todella melkoisen hennon oloinen rengas jos pylväisiin ja yläosaan verrataan.
Todella kova havis ja osoittaa antaumuksellisuutta jälleen. Hienoa että jossainpäin on kelejä.
Kidenäyte olisi kyllä ollut kullanarvoinen. Oikeastaan kerrankin voi sanoa, että olisi ollut enemmän kuin painonsa arvoinen kultaa.
Olen yrittänyt kehitellä nopeaa kidekuvaussysteemiä, mutta homma on vaiheessa. Kun liikun yksin, tahtoo kaikki tekeminen painottua mahdollisimman nätin kuvan saamiseen ja siten tämä kidehomma on kärsinyt. Ei hyvä. Tekeminen pitäisi nostaa uudelle tasolle.
Tämä tosiaan oli niitä kertoja, kun kiteet mennä viipottivat pitkinä vaakaviivoina valokeilassa. Ihan täytyy ihmetellä, että siinäkin kyydissä orientoituvat. Olisi hienoa voida taltioida yksittäisen kiteen lento ja asennot vaikkapa vain yhden metrin lentomatkalta erittäin tarkasti. Ehkä joskus tulevaisuudessa.
Lisäsin animoidun giffin. Siinä näkyy mielestäni noiden kaarten etäisyyden tai kulman muutos.
Lisäsin vielä kuvan, jossa on ikään kuin diffuusi rengas "siipien" lisäksi? Vai onko? Hmm.
