Despite the lightened background of the northern lights, this comet distinguishes the tail in the image for at least a couple of arc minutes. In addition, numerous small and low-light galaxies stand out in the background; at the bottom right is IC 1681, m = 14.8 and at the bottom left is an elongated faint LED 90541, m = 16.3. In addition, the galaxy LEDA 144077, just to the left of the comet, is named in the Sky map.
