Telescopic comet Borisov - 1.11.2019 at 05.43 - 1.11.2019 at 06.20 Tampere Observation number 86312

Visibility I / V

Tapio Lahtinen, Tampereen Ursa

On the Thursday before going to bed, I put the imaging equipment ready on the balcony and woke up at four o’clock.
The reason was a rare visitor from outside the solar system.
The site was originally named C / 2019 Q4 (Borisov), but when its true origin was revealed it was renamed 2I / Borisov.
I come from the word Interstellar (= interstellar).
Number 2 because Oumuamua was the first interstellar target to be spotted in 2017.

The size of the comet is estimated at 1.4 - 6.6km.
Its speed is 32km / s (which is almost double that of the Voyager sonar leaving the solar system).
At the time of the photograph, the comet was about 360 million kilometers from Earth.

According to one study , 2I / Borisov could have come from a two-star system in 13 light-years.

Hieno havainto tästä himmeästä ja nopealiikkeisestä tähtienvälisestä komeetasta.
