A fireball at night, as bright as a cresent moon - 26.12.2019 at 23.43 Vaala Observation number 86953

Visibility IV / V

Jarmo Moilanen, Ursa (Pohjois-Suomi)

A snapshot of a long-lasting fireball on the day of Tapan's Day taken by the Vaala fireball camera. In the video, the fireball has a duration of 36.92 seconds. The fireball is initially hidden behind the trees and video recording has been interrupted while the fireball is still visible. So the actual duration of the fireball was over 37 seconds. During the flight, the main body is followed by at least 7 smaller pieces that are left behind and turn off in turn.

At the top of the picture is an airplane on the London-Tokyo route.

On kyllä huikea tuo aivan horisontin vierustan lentojälki, joka on vielä noin tolkuttoman pitkä.
