It was probably artificial light folding through the clouds, but is this counted as a pillar of light because there is no frost? The temperature of the earth's surface was 3-4 degrees, at least not from frost. Of course, I cannot say anything about the temperature of the clouds. There was a hazy cloud curtain or fog on the shallow seashore and I assume the artificial lights on the beach were refracted by them.
It was hardly a reflection from the lens, looking very strange at least as it was.
